Installation and Users
Immediately after partitioning, setup will begin installing the base system. The rest of the software for the server will be chosen later. Before getting to that, set up the system’s main user accounts and their passwords:
The first user is “root.” This is the administrative account, only to be used for administrative tasks such as managing software packages and editing the system’s configuration.
Next, create your account:
Enter the full name of the main user or owner of this system here. Later, more attributes can be assigned to this user account such as a phone number, etc., but for now just enter your full name, and then the system will parse a username from that:
Change it to something else if you like. I left it as it was. Now, you’ll have to create a password for this account:
Once that’s done and confirmed, setup will move on to the next step.
